Waffles

I have wanted to make waffles for a very long time but I thought a waffle maker was one of those kitchen gadgets that would be used once or twice and then left to gather dust. I was in Lidl the other morning and I found this.

It was all of 4.99.

There  was 2 silicon waffle trays in the box and they fitted on to my large baking sheet.
There was no instructions in the box and any waffle recipes I found were for waffle makers. So I did a bit of adapting.

200g Plain flour.
1tsp baking powder.
1/2 tsp salt.
50g caster sugar.
2 eggs beating.
100g butter melted.
300ml milk

Preheat oven 190fan.

Put all the dry ingredients into a bowl add all the wet ingredients and whisk together till you have a smooth batter.
Pour into the waffle moulds.
Bake in the oven for 12-15 minutes until set and golden.

Turn out and serve with fruit and ice cream.

I would have shown you a very nice photo of waffles with blueberries, raspberries and vanilla ice cream but they were wiped out while I was looking for my camera.
