I loved the wartime Farm television program. I love anything to do with history. I found it by accident one Saturday night. I had missed the first 3 programmes. I was telling my son about it as he teaches history and he thought it was great too. So I ended up with all the books and the DVDs. I am looking forward to watching them.
Cooking and gardening also featured on my book pile. You can't beat a Maeve Binchy for a good read.
I am a big fan of Newbridge Silver jewellery. I was given a beautiful book mark.
My kind of presents. They last for ever.
Beautiful presents, I love books. I love history too, and Nigel Slater is so good :) x
ReplyDeleteThanks Cheryl. Nigel's books are great to just pick up and read a bit here and a bit there.
DeleteWonderful gifts. I loved the Wartime Farm series too, and watched the Victorian Farm and Edwardian Farm series too.
ReplyDeleteHi Jo. I haven't seen the victorian farm or the Edwardian farm series yet but if they are as good as Wartime farm I'm going to enjoy them
DeleteLovely books and great minds think alike! I've done a book review today and featured Wartime Farm to!

Hi Claire.
DeleteI will pop over and read your review.
Dear Cookie
ReplyDeleteWhat an interesting selection. I have got the Carol Klein and Alan Titchmarsh books too and am enjoying them very much. I liked the Victorian Farm series best - cleaning the farnmhouse to make it habitable was quite a job for them!
Enjoy your lovely books.
Best wishes
Ellie
Hi Ellie.
DeleteCarol Klein and Alan Titchmarsh write brillant gardening books.
ooh! Love the Farm books.
ReplyDeleteAnd Nigel Slater's Kitchen Diaries are such good fun to read, almost like talking to the guy, you can hear his voice coming through.
Enjoy!
Hi Angel Jem.
DeleteThanks for following my blog. You are right about Nigel Slater. He writes as if he is talking to you.
Fab pressies.I love books. Have you looked at the new Alan Titchmarsh book yet? Is it good? I am waiting for a new crafting book coming through the post.A treat to myself!
ReplyDeleteThe Alan Titchmarsh book is very good. It is a look at his garden with very beautiful photos. It is more of a pick up and read a bit here and there type of book rather than a cover to cover read. I would have liked to see something in it about his vegetable garden.
