Books

I know we are a bit into January but we had to deal with collage exams before we could get back to something that is close to normal. As some of  you know I like books, so I thought I would show off my Christmas presents.

I loved the wartime Farm television program. I love anything to do with history. I found it by accident one Saturday night. I had missed the first 3 programmes. I was telling my son about it as he teaches history and he thought it was great too. So I ended up with all the books and the DVDs. I am looking forward to watching them.
Cooking and gardening also featured on my book pile. You can't beat a Maeve Binchy for a good read.

I am a big fan of Newbridge Silver jewellery. I was given a beautiful book mark.

My kind of presents. They last for ever.

  4. Dear Cookie
What an interesting selection. I have got the Carol Klein and Alan Titchmarsh books too and am enjoying them very much. I liked the Victorian Farm series best - cleaning the farnmhouse to make it habitable was quite a job for them!
    Enjoy your lovely books.
    Best wishes

And Nigel Slater's Kitchen Diaries are such good fun to read, almost like talking to the guy, you can hear his voice coming through.

  7. The Alan Titchmarsh book is very good. It is a look at his garden with very beautiful photos. It is more of a pick up and read a bit here and there type of book rather than a cover to cover read. I would have liked to see something in it about his vegetable garden.
